Now travel agents throw traps on social media promising to send people abroad soon. People get caught in the trap of travel agents by getting lured by the greed of going abroad early and getting good salary. In this cases, people going abroad had to bear the loss of money. In some cases, it was also seen that people who demanded money back were beaten up and driven away by travel agents and employees. But now some travel agents have taken the form of dangerous mafia. Today social media is full of advertisements with the lure of sending them abroad. People are being given all kinds of greed. Those who have read and written are also being lured to send them abroad. Those who are illiterate are also being given the pretext of getting work abroad and good salary. Fake travel agents and mafia in the country give advertisements for sending abroad to long distance states. Huge amount is being taken from people in the name of foreign country.
A case of abduction of some people by some travel agents in Kolkata for illegal extortion of money has come to light. Travel agents were demanding ransom from the families of the kidnapped people. Kolkata Police has recovered around 20 youths kidnapped from travel agents. In this case, the police have arrested 10 people including two travel agents. Travel agents had imprisoned 20 youths in a building in Kolkata’s New Town area.
Among the youths who were freed from the clutches of travel agents by the police, most of them are residents of Punjab. Then he kept demanding lakhs of rupees from his family. During the interrogation of the police, the youth told that travel agents, brokers and landlords used to forcefully keep them locked in the room. According to police officials, the statements of all the youths have been recorded and the families of the youths are also being contacted. The police also say that many of the accomplices of those caught in the kidnapping and ransom-seeking case are also present in Kolkata, Punjab, Haryana and Bihar. This is a serious matter, so the police officers are contemplating to constitute a special SIT team to arrest the rest of the gang.
