चारा घोटाले में आरजेडी प्रमुख लालू यादव को पांच साल की कैद
RJD Chief Lalu Yadav Jailed for Five Years in Fodder Scam
रांची की सीबीआई अदालत ने लालू प्रसाद यादव को 5 साल कैद की सजा सुनाई और उन पर 60 लाख रुपये का जुर्माना लगाया। यह लालू प्रसाद से जुड़ा अंतिम मामला है।
सीबीआई जज एस के शशि ने चारा घोटाले के दोषियों को ऑनलाइन कोर्ट सेशन में सजा सुनाई गई। सजा सुनाए जाने से पहले लालू यादव के वकील प्रभात कुमार ने उनके तरफ से पक्ष रखा।
खबरों के मुताबिक, लालू यादव के वकील ने कहा कि लालू की उम्र 75 साल है और उन्हें 17 तरह की बीमारियां हैं इसलिए उन्हें कम से कम सजा सुनाई जाए। वहीं, सीबीआई के अधिकारी ने कोर्ट से ज्यादा से ज्यादा सजा देने की मांग की।
गौरतलब है कि चारा घोटाला जनवरी 1996 में पशुपालन विभाग में छापेमारी के बाद सामने आया। सीबीआई ने जून 1997 में प्रसाद को एक आरोपी के रूप में नामित किया। एजेंसी ने प्रसाद और बिहार के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री जगन्नाथ मिश्रा के खिलाफ आरोप तय किए। सितंबर 2013 में, ट्रायल कोर्ट ने चारा घोटाले से जुड़े एक मामले में प्रसाद, मिश्रा और 45 अन्य को दोषी ठहराया और प्रसाद को रांची जेल में कैद किया गया था।
दिसंबर 2013 में, सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने मामले में प्रसाद को जमानत दे दी, जबकि दिसंबर 2017 में, सीबीआई अदालत ने उन्हें और 15 अन्य को दोषी पाया और उन्हें बिरसा मुंडा जेल भेज दिया। इसके बाद झारखंड हाई कोर्ट ने प्रसाद को अप्रैल 2021 में जमानत दे दी।
