People are Being Killed by Chinese Manjha
Kite flying has been an old tradition in our country India. Kite flying is also mentioned in ancient texts. Kites have been flown in India for centuries. Even now, on the festivals of Independence Day, Makar Sankranti, Raksha Bandhan and Bhaiya Dooj etc., people take part in kite flying to the extent of passion. Earlier also kites used to fly. Kites were also cut, people used to loot the cut kites. There used to be tussles in the sky to fight the screws of kites. At that time, accidents used to happen occasionally while flying kites. People participating in kite flying used to buy a fine string of cotton thread so that their kite does not get cut. Many people used to prepare Manjha by themselves. Children and elders used to enjoy kite flying on the roof of their houses or in some ground. Elderly people used to remember the days of their youth by watching colorful kites in the sky. But now the festival of kite flying creates fear in most of the people. The reason for this is Chinese manja. Instead of cotton manjha, people especially children and youth are buying Chinese manjha. Kite enthusiasts use Chinese manjha to cut other’s kite, which is cutting the kite’s string as well as the man’s neck. The edge of this manjha, which is sold in the country in the name of Chinese manjha, is sharper than the edge of the blade. In a moment, this Chinese manjha cuts the driver’s neck. This Manjha has become a big enemy of the vehicle drivers today. This Chinese kite flier acts like a silent killer. It is not visible to the driver going on the road. It is detected at the same time when it damages the body part. This Manjha has become a bloody hunter.
Nowadays, kite fliers in our country often use such string or manjha so that other kite fliers cannot cut their kite. They try every moment to easily cut the kite of the person in front of them. For this, in earlier times manjha was made by applying glass sawdust mixed with glue on the thread. This manjha was also harmful, but it used to break in the tussle. Due to which it did not cause so much damage. It is said that Chinese manjha is made by mixing plastic, nylon and iron filings. It is stronger because it is made of a mixture of metals. This Chinese Manjha itself does not cut or break. Chinese manjha is known as a sure guarantee for cutting the opponent’s kite. This is the reason why most kite fliers use this Chinese manjha. Being made of a mixture of different metals, it is sharp and electrically conductive. As soon as this manjha comes in contact with the electric wires, it is killing the kite fliers as well. Such cases have also come to the fore from many states of the country in which people died due to electrocution from electric wire. This manjha also obstructs the supply of electricity. Sometimes short circuits are also caused by the contact of this thread between two wires.
The question in the general public is whether this is a Chinese Manjha? Where is it coming from when it is banned? And despite being deadly, how are kite fliers using it? Kite flying is a good hobby, but how can this hobby become fatal for others? Many incidents have happened across the country because of Chinese Manjha. In the year 2017, NGT had banned Chinese manjha. After this, it was said that action should be taken against the sellers of Chinese manjha under the Environment Protection Act. If action is taken against anyone under this act, then he can be sentenced to five years or a fine of one lakh. In July 2017, the NGT banned the sale of dangerous Chinese Manjha across the country. This order was made on the application of People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). Manjha making companies also went to the Supreme Court, but they did not get relief from there. Even after the ban on this Chinese manjha from the year 2017, why its sale is not stopping in the country? Why does the government find itself helpless in front of this problem. In the first country, this manjha used to come from China. Now the factories of the states of India are making Chinese Manjha indiscriminately. But due to the irresponsible attitude of the system and bribery, Chinese manjha is being sold in the market. This is the reason why people are flying kites indiscriminately with Chinese thread. Due to its grip, many people have lost their lives in the last years. Thousands of birds are getting injured every year in the country. During July 2022, there were 318 calls to save injured birds in the country’s capital Delhi. In the month of July 2021, 445, in August 909 calls came to save the birds. This figure was 714 in the month of September this year. Between the year 2017 and 31 July 2022, the Delhi Police has registered only 256 FIRs in the case of Chinese Manjha. In these, 14 cases are of injuries or death due to Chinese manjha. All the remaining 236 cases were registered against the sellers of Chinese Manjha. Sources say that most of the people doing Chinese manjha business continue the business by taking advantage of the lax law. Police registers a case of violation of government order (Section-188) against the sellers of Chinese Manjha. In these cases, the accused were let off after imposing a very small fine. In such a situation, these people start the same business again.
An expert on Chinese manjha said that lead, vajram gum, maida flour, aluminum oxide and zirconia oxide etc. are included to make it. The sharp edged Chinese manja does not break easily due to the mixture of chemicals and metals. A blade-like edge is formed in it. The Chinese manjha is made of plastic, which is very strong. Metallic coating is also done on this plastic thread. Due to which it becomes an electric conductor, there is also a danger of getting current in it all the time. Apart from the country’s capital Delhi, people who are fond of kite flying are present in many states like Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Jammu, Uttar Pradesh. The havoc of Chinese Manjha is being seen for many years. Right now, during the year 2022-2023, efforts have started in some states to take strict action against those who sell and buy Chinese manjha. Voices have started rising against Chinese manjha in the country. Common people have started demanding the strictest action. There is a need to launch a special campaign against those who make and sell Chinese Manjha in the country. Not only bike riders, but pedestrians are also troubled by the Chinese manjha. Chinese Manjha is lying on the ground at various places on the roads, which often gets stuck in people’s feet. Due to which the pedestrians keep getting injured by falling on the ground.
For some time, a message is becoming increasingly viral on social media. It is being said in the message that two-wheeler drivers should pay more attention to their safety in view of kite flying on August 15. The Chinese thread used for flying kites can be fatal. Be careful while driving. Drive slowly, look around and drive. Tie a thick cloth around your neck while driving a two wheeler. The question is also that why is the government and the administration not paying attention to the problem of social media, which is being extremely worried today? When everything was closed during the lockdown in the country during the Karona period. Even at that time kites continued to fly in the states of the country. Due to the closure of the school, kites and Chinese manjha were being sold indiscriminately. Yes, it was definitely a fact in the lockdown that due to the shutdown of two-wheelers, there were no cases of their riders being victims of accidents. But the birds continued to get injured and die from the Chinese manjha. Actually, this Chinese manjha never gets spoiled nor breaks. The Chinese manjha scattered in the streets and alleys used to go in the garbage. Animals and birds that come in search of food in this garbage get trapped in it. In an attempt to get out of the manja, their neck is cut or their feet are cut.
There is also a large number of people who are fond of kite flying in the state of Punjab. This deadly China door has also made many people of Punjab its victims in recent times. On January 15, a 58-year-old man riding a bike on a flyover was beheaded due to China Door in Khanna city. The surprising thing is that in this case China Door had cut the jacket as well. During treatment at the hospital, 16 stitches had to be put in the neck of the injured person. Similarly, a 24-year-old young girl who was going to her home on Activa in Doraha area also got entangled in China Door. Due to which there was a serious injury on his neck. A 4-year-old child’s face was badly injured due to China Door in Ludhiana city. Doctors had to put 120 stitches on his face. A child died of electrocution due to a china door. Many such cases came to the fore in the media.
We all have to raise our voice against those who make and sell Chinese Manjha i.e. China Door. Chinese Manjha should be declared a social evil. Children and youth have to be made aware in school-college. Social organizations will also have to run a campaign against Chinese Manjha. Along with this, the state and central governments will take strict action against those who make Chinese manjha illegally in the country. If it is not stopped then Chinese manjha can become a serious problem. Innocent people will continue to die due to Chinese manjha.
