Police Tortured and Implicated Two Youths in False Murder
By the way, cases of police atrocities often come to the fore in the media. In the country of India, many such cases also come in the media, in which someone dies due to beating by the police. Many times people are forced into false cases. A false case of intoxication is registered against someone. A person is implicated in a false case of rape. There are many such examples in the country. All this creates an atmosphere of fear among the common people. Very few victims get justice in such false cases due to the widespread corruption in the system. Due to the corrupt police personnel in the country, even innocent people have to spend many years in jail. Many such cases also come to the fore, in which the policemen take huge amount by showing fear of being implicated in some case. Many a times, the police pick up an innocent person just under suspicion. Then that person is illegally taken to the police station and beaten up badly. The surprising thing is that without any crime, the policemen also give third degree torture. They are made to sign on blank paper by showing fear of harming the family. A similar case has also come to the fore in Dausa, in which the lives of two youths were ruined by being implicated in the false murder of their wife. What happened to these youths raises many questions on the police system. These youths were punished for the crime they did not commit. Still these youths were not rebuffed by the false case. According to information received from the media, these youths who were sent to jail in false cases have got bail recently. Now let’s talk about this matter.
This is a frightening case of youths named Gopal and Sonu, residents of Mehandipur Balaji in Dausa. Let us see further what these youths and their families have suffered in the false case. According to media reports, the victim of the false case, Sonu Saini, told that he had married Aarti, a resident of Vrindavan, on 8 September 2015. He was dependent on Gopal Saini. The woman left him after 8 days and he had remarried in 2015 itself. Due to all this, Gopal told the media that on September 25, 2015, Suraj Prasad, the woman’s father, had filed a missing report of the daughter at Vrindavan police station. After this, the body of a woman was found in the Magorra canal of Mathura. After which on March 16, 2016, the UP police arrested both of them from Mehandipur Balaji in the murder case. Gopal also told that the entire family has suffered the brunt of the false case of murder. I was married only 14 days after the arrest. The girls broke off the relationship. There was a stamp of murder of the woman. The society boycotted our family. My marriage is broken, which is broken, till now even my younger brothers have not got married. No one wants to marry a daughter in our family. He said that the police forced him to confess to the crime. The whole family got buried under the burden of debt while going around the court. The family incurred a debt of about Rs 20 lakh. Which you haven’t been able to pay. The victim Gopal said that about nine months after his arrest, he got bail from the Allahabad High Court in December 2016. At the same time, Sonu also got bail from the court in July 2017.
Somehow in the year 2021, about four years after coming to the village after getting bail from the court, information about Aarti being alive was received. A person from Vishala village told that a woman named Aarti is in his village, who has been living for about four years. It was like a miracle for Gopal and Sonu. Is Aarti alive? It was necessary to confirm about this. A plan was made for this. Gopal told that like a detective, he and Sonu reached Vishala village posing as camel buyers. Talked to the person of the village about buying a camel. He also gave Rs.500 as advance so that no one has any doubt. But at that time no concrete information about Aarti was available. He told that compulsion had made him a spy. After this he started selling vegetables in Vishala village. Aarti appeared at the time of selling vegetables in the village. Now the suspicion of Aarti being alive was confirmed. But to catch Aarti, documents were also needed, which could be presented as evidence.
Gopal told that those people also became e-friend operators for Aarti’s document. Due to this, went to his house and took the family members into confidence. They told the family that Rs 2 lakh is being given for the toilet from the government scheme. Aarti and her family fell for our bluff. Due to this we got all the documents of Aarti. Gopal says that after that it is confirmed that this woman is Aarti. After this contacted the officer of Mehandipur Balaji Police Station. Gave them all the information, later the station in-charge informed the special team of UP about this. Aarti (37) was detained by Mehandipur police station on Saturday from Vishala village and handed over to STF from Uttar Pradesh. Sonu and Gopal are out on bail, even after Aarti is found alive, they have not been proved innocent yet. The woman will have a DNA test. After this there will be identification. An acquittal can be declared after a long legal process of production of evidence and documents.
On the other hand, after the truth of the whole matter came to the fore, the UP police took Aarti’s father Surajprasad Gupta into custody. Along with the father, Aarti’s mother Urmila Devi and her brother were also brought to the police station for questioning. During this, when the police asked all three to identify Aarti, Aarti’s mother and brother identified her as Aarti. But Aarti’s father Suraj Prasad refuses to accept Aarti as his daughter. When the police asked her to do a DNA test, she identified Aarti as her daughter.
Sonu and Gopal got emotional and narrated the story of third degree torture by UP Police. He told that after taking them to Vrindavan police station, both of them were locked in a room. Both of us were repeatedly asked who had killed Aarti. We used to say that we did not kill. Then both would be locked in separate barracks. After that we would be beaten up badly. The police were bent on getting us to confess to the crime by any means. We were hanged upside down with poles stuck in our legs. The police uprooted the nails of two fingers of Sonu with plasma. Because of all this, Gopal’s fingers were twisted. Police personnel showed fear of remand to both of them and threatened to finish them in encounter. Sonu was horrified at the threat of police torture and encounter. After which he confessed to killing Aarti. After this, the police got their signatures done at many places. Fearing the police, Gopal also agreed with Sonu’s yes. After this he was sent to court and then to jail.
The truth about Gopal and Sonu came out. Actually many questions arise now?
- Will this not be a blot on the trustworthy name of the police?
- Who will pay for third degree torture in the name of interrogation in a false case of murder?
- What will happen to the torture that the whole family had to face in a false murder case?
- Who will pay for the loss of respect in this case?
- Who will pay for those moments of life that have to be spent in jail?
- Is it the job of the police to make anyone guilty?
- Who will pay the debt incurred on the family due to this false case?
- Due to the false case of the police, the brother and sister did not get married?
Is this Gandhi’s country India? If we investigate properly, many such cases can come to the fore. Apart from the country’s human rights organization, other social service organizations should work on this.
