Today the mafia has increased its network so much, mafia rule is everywhere. Such news continues to be published in the country, the journalists are killed in public by the people of the mafia.
Recently, a new government has arrived in Bihar from a new coalition. As soon as the new government was formed, incidents of murder and rape started within 24 hours. Newspaper journalist Gokhul Yadav was shot dead by miscreants in broad daylight in Jamui area of Bihar. The bike-borne miscreants shot the journalist at a distance of one kilometer from the house. At a distance of 1 kilometer from the house, the miscreants who came in number five on two bikes fired five bullets in the body of Gokul Yadav. Gokul Yadav journalist died on the spot due to bullet injury.
Similarly, on the night of 20 May in Begusarai area of Bihar, a journalist named Subhash Kumar Mahto was also shot dead in the head by four assailants near his house. The attackers later fled from the spot. His family claims that journalist Subhash Kumar Mahato was murdered because of his extensive reporting and dogma on liquor and sand mafia. On May 20, Subhash Kumar Mahato was shot dead while returning home from his friend’s wedding in Sakho village under Bakhri police station area of Begusarai district.
Journalist and RTI activist from Bihar Budhinath Jha was murdered for exposing illegal clinics.
Journalist Buddhinath Jha had left the house on the night of 9 November and went missing. His burnt body was found on Friday night. Journalist Buddhinath Jha had ‘exposed’ the illegal medical clinics operating in his area. The journalist’s body was found five kilometers from Benipatti village in Bihar’s Madhubani district. Buddhinath Jha was also known as Avinash Jha in his vicinity. Journalist Buddhinath Jha was working with a local Hindi news portal, BNN News Benipatti. According to the family, the role of the medical mafia behind his murder is suspected, as journalist and transparency activist Jha had filed a complaint against illegal clinics, which resulted in closure of some illegal clinics and fines against others.
On 10 August 2021, Bihar Police recovered the body of Sudarshan TV journalist Manish Kumar Singh, who was missing for three days. The body of journalist Manish Kumar was recovered from water in Gachi Tola Chewar of Mathlohiar village of Harsiddhi police station area of Bihar. Journalist Manish Kumar Singh was getting threats to kill for a long time. It is also learned that Suresh Chavhanke, CMD of Sudarshan TV, wrote in a tweet that the abduction happened 3 days ago, Bihar Police did nothing even after complaining about the possibility of murder.
