Isn’t this visible to the officers who are paying the hefty salaries of the Food Department or the responsibilities sitting in the administration! Will the common people continue to be compelled to buy ‘poison’ in the food items they buy for themselves by spending their hard-earned money! In this way, many deadly diseases like cancer, skin diseases, heart diseases are spreading due to adulteration. Wealth is also being lost and moral ideals are also declining.
Thousands of people become ill due to adulterated food items. The adulterers do not think that how many are facing premature death because of them. Are they not indirectly conspiring to mass murder of life? Like murderers, they should also be punished as criminals. Adulteration is such a villainous, murderous tendency, whose ignorance is proving fatal. It is our fundamental right to have pure food and it is the duty of the government to take strict action against the lapses in providing it. There is no such big mass movement in the country, which will bring awareness among the people for adulteration.
The State Governments are responsible for implementing the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. State Food Safety Officers collect samples of food items. They send this sample to FSSAI approved laboratories for testing. If adulteration is found in the sample, then action is taken as per the provision of FSSAI Act. The government has also made laws to prevent adulteration, but still this black business of adulteration is flourishing. Apart from this, if a person gets adulterated goods even after paying a fair price for the item, then it is a matter of great concern, on which the government needs to pay attention. In this era of adulteration, we should take a good look at the food items. We must read the information related to food items and should also make other people aware of adulteration because awareness is the only way to eliminate adulteration.
