ईडी ने राकांपा नेता और महाराष्ट्र के मंत्री नवाब मलिक को अंडरवर्ल्ड डॉन दाऊद इब्राहिम और उसके सहयोगियों के खिलाफ मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग मामले में गिरफ्तार किया।
ईडी मलिक के खिलाफ आरोपों की जांच कर रही है – शुरू में महाराष्ट्र के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री फडणवीस द्वारा लगाए गए – एक संपत्ति सौदा है जिसे मलिक ने दर्ज किया था। ऐसे आरोप हैं कि मलिक ने दाऊद इब्राहिम के एक सहयोगी से संपत्ति को कथित तौर पर मौजूदा बाजार दर से कम कीमत पर खरीदा था।
फडणवीस ने मलिक पर अंडरवर्ल्ड से संबंधों का आरोप लगाते हुए दावा किया कि उसने मुंबई अंडरवर्ल्ड से जुड़े दो लोगों से सस्ते में संपत्ति खरीदी थी। फडणवीस ने कहा कि उनमें से एक सरदार शाहवाली खान को टाडा अदालत ने 2007 में 1993 के मुंबई बम विस्फोट मामले में उम्रकैद की सजा सुनाई थी।
कुर्ला में एलबीएस मार्ग पर 2.80 एकड़ की एक प्रमुख संपत्ति सॉलिडस इन्वेस्टमेंट प्राइवेट लिमिटेड द्वारा मात्र 30 लाख रुपये में खरीदी गई थी। सौदे पर हस्ताक्षरकर्ता नवाब मलिक के बेटे फ़राज़ मलिक थे, ”फडणवीस ने आरोप लगाया था। फडणवीस ने कहा कि मलिक ने खुद 2019 में मंत्री बनने पर कंपनी से इस्तीफा दे दिया था।
मलिक ने आरोपों से इनकार करते हुए कहा कि उसने कभी भी अंडरवर्ल्ड से किसी के साथ कोई समझौता नहीं किया है। मलिक ने कहा कि कुर्ला की जमीन पर एक गोदाम है जिसे सॉलिडस ने मुनीरा पटेल से पट्टे पर लिया था। “उसने हमसे संपर्क किया और कहा कि वह हमें जमीन बेचना चाहती है। हमने जमीन का स्वामित्व ले लिया और सलीम पटेल के माध्यम से पंजीकरण कराया, जिसके पास पावर ऑफ अटॉर्नी थी।
