Wounds received in journalism turned into canker sores
Working in journalism inside the country and keeping oneself safe has also become a task. This task remains in front of the eyes morning and evening. Journalism is like a sharp thorn in the lives of many people, which keeps on making itself felt throughout life. No matter how much you try to remove this thorn, it goes on penetrating inside. The journalist who writes against the corruption spread in the system, criminal activities of mafia and social evils gets addicted to the wounds received from this thorn. He will have to live life with this sharp thorn. Today the situation has become such that the corrupt compromise with the system. We can also say that those who have entered the field of journalism with the intention of compromising with this system. He and his family are also safe and become entitled to a blissful life. There is no dearth of such journalists and writers in the country of India, who keep watching their wounds turn into canker sores. But do not stop writing against corruption, mafia and social evils of the system. The biggest reason for this is that he has been fighting with the poison of sharp thorns with the passion of journalism. This passion has kept him alive till now. He has come to know that this is going to last a lifetime. Now he is writing against evils by creating energy from these wounds. But what hurts more than the wounds is the safety of the family.
You must also be wondering which aspect is being tried to highlight in this. I am talking about such a journalist. He has to come in the field of journalism about 24 years back because of his passion for writing. Its initial time has to be written in normal news only. He was slowly making his hold in Hindi journalism. With the passage of time journalism became a passion. Now his words started speaking against corruption, mafia and social evils of the system. He kept writing, his articles kept getting published in the newspapers. He came to know when the corrupt people of the system and the mafia became enemies. Before joining the journalism field, he was known as a Taekwondo player and trainer. During that time, due to good grip in Hindi, it was a habit to write articles of Taekwondo camps and championships and send them to newspapers. That’s why he got inclined towards journalism. Being a taekwondo player, threats from the corrupt system and the mafia did not instill fear. He continued to write despite threats, during this time. This journalist got married and had children. As the children grew up, the number of threats also increased. That’s why the journalist does not take his family for outing or watching movies. He used to worry that no harm should happen to the family. He was protecting himself. When an incident happened with her child and there was no cooperation from the administration. Many questions started arising in his mind. Looking at these conditions, he started work by going to another city 45 kilometers away. But the question of the safety of the family remained the same. For some months, he would catch a bus from home to Ludhiana in the morning and come back at night. The incident happened with this journalist in the year 2015 near Ludhiana bus stand. Suddenly 8-10 unknown people come forward to harm him. One of them throws some sharp iron object towards the journalist. Due to which there is a deep injury on the hand and left leg of the journalist, he starts hiding to avoid this attack. Those attackers start looking for the journalist while threatening to kill him. Seeing weapons in their hands, he somehow runs away and hides in a bus. The journalist’s life was saved with the help of the bus driver. This attack was done by people of drug mafia. In another incident, the fingers of this journalist’s right hand were hit with an iron stick. In which one of his fingers was broken and the nail of one finger was injured. Due to some reason Vansh did not get his right treatment done, the finger of his right hand became crooked. Because of this, sometimes the journalist faces difficulty in writing and working on the computer. He stopped going home in routine now. He was afraid that the people of the mafia might chase him and reach home. He would suddenly reach his family after 20-25 days and then leave the house. The experience of the police administration was not correct. His reason was, he has been writing about the shortcomings of the police administration for a long time. A time also came when his words stopped supporting him. Once the family members talked about leaving the country. The journalist’s family did not want to live in an atmosphere of terror. He wanted the family including the journalist to move to another country. Being a taekwondo player, the journalist felt like giving up on the system and the mafia. However, he was now receiving threats to harm the family as well. At that time the family started feeling a strange fear. It was not looking easy to sell my landed property in one fell swoop. In the year 2016, the family decided to gradually move from their country. The journalist who was earlier not in the right to leave the country. But agreed to secure the family. Seeing the current situation, he sent his son abroad. Started using self defense items to protect myself. He was pressured many times to leave journalism, despite this he continued to write. There came a time when even the family started talking about giving up journalism. The journalist explained to the family that it would be more dangerous for him. Today people in the state are living under the shadow of fear. Every other day someone or the other is shot and killed. Gangsters issue threats without any fear and whenever they get a chance, an innocent person is killed in public. Recently, in some cases, despite having police and security guards in front, gangsters escape after firing bullets. Everyone is worried about the increase in criminal incidents in the state. Journalists are still writing against corruption, mafia and social evils of the system. He has accepted that someday he will also be killed. He believes that journalism gives him inner satisfaction.
